Day 03 - 07/25 - Ketchikan
We arrived in Ketchikan just before 7am and were cleared to get off the ship by 7:10am. We were berthed right next to the big Welcome to Ketchikan sign. After breakfast we made our way to Fish Creek and spotted salmon and a seal. We then made our way to the Logging Show which was really good. Jakob really liked it. It only cost $40 per person and less for Jakob, and I don't know why we haven't done it earlier. At this point Angela headed off to do some shopping and Jakob and I went in search of seals. We found another at the mouth of the creek and got a good picture.
We wandered back to the port area and checked out the stuffed moose and polar bear in the Tongas Trading store where Angela caught up with us. We purchased a light snack and waited for our next tour to start.
At noon we boarded a bus and headed out to Potlatch Park (Jakob spotted an eagle) and viewed many Totem poles, antique cars, and recreations of a native village. We concluded our trip with a tour of the city. It was a good tour, and once again Jakob really liked it.
We recorded the ship just before 2:30 and we were sailing by 3pm with the Discovery Princess just ahead of us. Jakob spent the next three hours in the Lido pool and before we took him to Club Hal, we played ping pong with him.
We caught the first 20 minutes of the 7:30pm show by Major Fourth and then enjoyed a Canaletto diner before seeing the full 9pm set of Major Fourth. It was quite good. Afterwards we collected Jakob from Club HAL.
Tomorrow is Juneau and we hav da couple of excursions planned.
